Bibimbap Soho Reverse Auction - Red Cross Japan Tsunami Appeal
Bibimbap Fundraising Event
Bibimbap Soho wants to raise as much money as we can in aid of the Japanese Tsunami by supporting the Red Cross.
BACKGROUND
On March 11 at 2:46pm JST a massive 9.0-magnitude earthquake occurred near the northeastern coast of Japan, creating extremely destructive tsunami waves which hit Japan just minutes after the earthquake, and triggering evacuations and warnings across the Pacific Ocean. The earthquake and tsunami have caused extensive and severe damage in Northeastern Japan, leaving thousands of people confirmed dead, injured or missing, and millions more affected by lack of electricity, water and transportation.THE EVENT
Here at Bi bim bap Soho we wanted to do as much as we could to raise money for the Red Cross Tsunami Fund. We ran a 3 week reverse auction competition in the restaurant. To win a camera you had to submit a low bid that no one else has submitted. E.g. If we get three bids at 1p, one bid at 2p, three bids on 3p and one bid on 4p. The person who's bid on 2p will be the winner and because it's an auction, you will be required to buy the camera for the bid amount, 2p in the example. At the end of the competition date we selected the winner by looking at all the bids to find the lowest bidder.THE WINNER
We picked our lucky bidder and she was Meg who bid with 5p! In total we raised over £100 for the Red Cross in 3 weeks! A big thank you to everyone that took part in the competition!Find the Official Event on Facebook
